Who I am

Let me introduce myself.

For many years I used to work at the social services in a town in Jutland, Denmark. My origins are Dutch but my father settled here shortly after the war because the dykes were poorly maintained. Some years later his choice was proven right. More than half of the Netherlands was flooded.

I grew up in Denmark and did choose to work with families who needed help with their troubled teenagers.
After some 20 years in my job I got tired of it. I became rather disillusioned. You have to understand the Danish system. All employees sit on their own cash registers.

Whenever a person in need comes into your office the primary goal is to send the client into the next office. Some have applied for welfare needs for +10 years and they have not gotten a single cent. How they survive I don't know. My job was to say no even if they came into my office with their head chopped off. It was never a question to help people.

I wanted to do something with my life and a civil war was ongoing down in Bosnia. I traveled down there and helped people out. Of course I soon realize if you help someone victimized in a war, you get enemies. Soon people were shooting after me. Then I moved on.

A group of investors approached me based on my knowledge about troubled teenagers. They wanted to establish a boarding school for troubled teenagers in Jamaica. Back around year 2000 residential treatment was seen as the answer for families with troubled teenagers. The 3-strike laws did put teenagers in prison for life without parole faster than most could spell their names.

We did good establishing boarding schools in Jamaica, Costa Rica, Montana and Mexico. Down in Costa Rica our short term summer program were even copied by the huge company who otherwise has set the standards for residential treatment in the northern America.

I am pleased to say that we serviced a lot of families.

However in huge businesses the money meant focus on short term profit, so I did choose to leave my position and return to Denmark.

I was living my retirement based on a humbled life combined with prayer, when the great deluge of 2010 hit Denmark. It was then I realized that my mission in life wasn't over and I managed to row my dinghy past the wasteland territories south of Copenhagen to Karrebaek when I managed to find some land. Here I left the dinghy and settled on Ydernaes where the plan is to start a small ministry where we will try to travel around Denmark in order save the soles of the people.

I am just a humble man with an almost to big mission in life, but I believe that I can make a difference.

God bless you all
